The third floor, ceiling and one wall down
Thursday, September 28th, 2006Last week, we took down the ceiling and a wall of the third floor, together with some friends. The ceiling will be reconstructed when we are putting in the terras on the roof. The wall had to come down to make place for a new one, with sliding doors incorporated in that wall. The plan is to make a sanitary unit between the two existing rooms, so you can access the shower from both rooms. There well be a toilet also, with a door towards the stairs, so one can use the bathroom without accessing the sleeping rooms. Makes sense ?
To take down the ceiling, we had to cut the existing wood frame. I bought a chainsaw to do that. Check out the picture.
My dad will be glad with all that wood, plus we’re saving about € 500 not needing a container for the wood.
Then we took down the deviding wall. Nothing much to it, just brutal force. And not to forget, about 50 bags of debris, 25 kg each. So that was fun.

There was still some work to be done to take down the last wall and the doors. More pictures next time.
